Washington’s My Health My Data Act, Nevada’s consumer health data law and Connecticut’s data privacy act give residents of those states specific rights over “consumer health data”. This policy explains what we may hold that could fall under those laws and how you can control it. Our Privacy notice covers everything else.
1. What this covers
We do not ask about your health and we collect no biometric data: the selfie check in identity verification is done by Stripe, and we receive only its result. Stay preferences describe the home you want, not you. But you may choose to write something about your health in:
- a message to a host;
- a problem report about a stay;
- a review;
- a search you type;
- a support request.
Before October 2, 2026 the service could also store a severity level and a note on a guest’s profile, and a reaction flag and note on a review. We have deleted those values; a copy can remain in a database backup until that backup expires, within 90 days. We treat all of this as consumer health data. We do not use your stay preferences, searches or reviews to infer anything about your health, and we keep no record of any condition.
2. Why we collect and use it
Only to deliver what you asked for: passing your message to the host, reviewing a problem report, showing your review, answering your request. We do not use it for advertising, search ranking or any other purpose. A destination typed into search is matched to a town or state only for counts of at least ten searches; anything else you type is not used for analytics.
3. Consent
We collect it only when you choose to write it, for the purpose you are writing it for. We will ask for your separate consent before using it for any other purpose. We share it only with the person you send it to (for example, the host you message), and, where needed to review a report or dispute, with our staff. Stay preferences are shown to a host only when you answer yes to sharing them on a specific booking request; each request asks separately, and you can answer no on any later request.
4. Who receives it
- The host or guest you send it to.
- Our staff, to review a report or dispute.
- Our service providers that store or transmit it for us under contract: Cloudflare and Neon (hosting), GitHub (database backups), Resend (email: notices about messages and reports say only that something arrived; replies to a support request you send us include your subject line and our reply) and Twilio (text notices, which carry no message content).
We do not sell consumer health data. We will not sell it without your signed authorization, and we do not geofence around health care facilities.
5. Your rights
- Confirm whether we hold your consumer health data, and get a copy of it.
- See a list of the third parties and affiliates we have shared it with, and how to contact them.
- Withdraw consent to its collection or sharing.
- Have it deleted, including from our service providers’ systems. A copy can remain in a database backup until that backup expires, within 90 days.
- Appeal if we decline a request.
Send a request through help and support or to privacy@clearairstays.com. You may use an authorized agent. We verify identity before acting, answer within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where necessary, with notice), and charge nothing for up to two requests a year. To appeal, reply to our decision; we answer appeals within 45 days, and if we deny an appeal we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.
